Titan

Definition. Titan uses a safe infrared light to heat the dermis deep beneath the surface of your skin. This infrared light heats the deeper watery layers of your skin thereby causing collagen strands to contract and tighten much like cotton sheets are shrunk in the dryer. The skin's surface during the treatment is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece. This light-based energy system allows for a very uniform distribution of energy for heating and treating the deep tissue. Light-based energy is thought to be a safer and more predictable form of energy than some of the other energy sources currently used in cosmetic lasers, such as RF. Radio Frequency energies have been known to produce unwanted results in over- heating the skin and deeper fatty layers of tissue resulting in unsightly pockets of dead, fatty areas and uneven skin surfaces. Titan's light-based technology offers safe and effective treatments with no downtime. The resulting appearance is smooth and natural, never uneven. The Titan can restore the firm, taut appearance of youth to virtually any area of the body displaying skin laxity. The best results can be seen on areas of sagging from age, sun damage, environmental factors, and weight gain followed by weight loss. Think of it as an anti-sag, not anti-flab, corrector. Areas with fatty deposits and/or poor muscle tone are not usually good responders to Titan treatment. Most people treat the jowls, neck, cheeks, forehead, or abdomen. Legs and arms can also be treated.
Is it right for me? Titan produces beautiful results on the face, neck, jowls, and abdomen and is the ideal treatment for people who would like to try a non- invasive treatment before they commit to plastic surgery.
Advantages. Titan procedure is unlike many of the tightening treatments out there today because it is painless and requires no numbing, sedation, or anesthetics. Patients are amazed by the sensation of the Titan. During a matter of seconds the Titan handpiece slowly warms then cools the targeted area.
Disadvantages. Following the treatment, there may be some redness and swelling in the treated area, which should disappear within a few hours.
Results. You will most likely need to have three treatments scheduled one month apart. Most patients notice some immediate tightening results, especially after the second and third treatments. Your skin will continue to tighten for some time following your final treatment, with the most dramatic results being seen three to six months later. Maintenance treatments usually depend on your age and lifestyle. However, once collagen fibers are contracted with Titan, they stay that way and don't reverse.
